Christmas wish list: ideas for tools

Let's get some ideas going for tools that we might add to our Christmas wish lists.

There's the obvious stuff, like basic tools, etc. But I'm thinking more along the lines of things you wouldn't buy for yourself right now, but might be cool to have some day. I'd rather get this kind of stuff than an ugly sweater that I never wear.

I'm mostly interested in ~$100 and less price range.

So far I have:

- 3-jaw gear puller (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?cat=Mechanics+Tools&pid=00946906000&vertical=TOOL&subcat=Automotive+Specialty+Tools&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes
). Will be handy if I ever replace any bushings.

But that's a lame list so far, and I'm coming up empty.

You can never have too many extensions and such.

SK are nice. I like that you can put a wrench on the shank.

You've wanted a gear puller for a while...go for it :p

Have you signed up for the Craftsman Club? Do that before buying anything.

I got this one instead (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?pid=03473906000) today. More expensive, but when the nearest outlet is about 85 feet away and inside the house when it's cold outside, wired doesn't work that well. FWIW, the light worked great tonight while I was fixing the DVD player wiring some crackhead had done so it would actually work properly and the car's battery was disconnected and the streetlight was out and I couldn't find the flashlight. Of course, it didn't come from Sears with a full charge, and to fully charge the first time is supposed to take 15 hours, so I wound up running an extension cord from the kitchen out the front door, across the tire marks on the front yard to the Aramda which was parked on the street.

Impact driver or impact gun?

An impact driver (aka a hammer driver) really is an essential tool, especially for brake jobs. But it's very useful for getting out stubborn screws without destroying the screw head.

And even the sears ones are hella cheap. I have this one:
