Add the Miata to the recently rear ended list.

Sorry to hear. Drivers were absolutely crazy today in the unseasonably warm weather. D-fense was the word of the day for me.

Pedestrians were fucking stupid, too. Lots of morons.

When you're sitting still and the guy behind you drives into you, there's not much you can to do defend against it.

The company insuring the car he was driving just called me back to say that they've accepted liability. Assuming that no medical issues crop up in the next few days, the big thing will be finding the right middle ground on the car.

I'm guessing that there's $1,800-$2,500 damage. Really, not much...but not much less than the Miata is probably worth. Not sure how that's going to play out. I'd like to keep the car without it being totaled and buying it back from them.

Since MD doesn't salvage title a car that's that old, the "buy back" process involves them taking a percentage out of the check they send you.

The RX-7's been rear-ended already in its life. Hopefully that grants it immunity.

I'm just worried that the numbers will wind up in a lousy place.
