If you could buy one used exotic and one used daily driver for 50k total...

What would it be?

Every now and then I have crazy thoughts about dumping my 335i for an 80's 328 GTS Ferrari and a Honda Civic for a daily driver...or maybe a mid 90's air cooled 911 + civic...

I like my car but it just doesn't stir the emotions for me as much as the cars I lusted after growing up. I'm not wealthy by any stretch but I love cars and something about my 335i leaves me cold (its my fun car and daily driver). Ideas?

What are Pantera's going for these days?...the err...really old ones.

Yikes...didn't realize they held their value so well. I have an hour commute so a bicycle isn't an option.

I'd want a 993. Perferably the last year of the air cooled (1995?). Naturally, I have no clue what the current market are for these.

That's really not enough to get a decent used exotic and still have change left over for a reasonable reliable daily driver. Assuming you need to drop at least $10K for a respectable and reliable daily driver (used Civic maybe), that only leaves you $40K tops for the "exotic" (more like $35K after you pay taxes and tags on the DD). At that price, you're either going for a higher mileage base 996 (which isn't all that exotic) or a truly HIGH mileage copy of something more exotic. I guess I'd go for a high mileage 993 C2S if that were my criteria.

I have an 89 Vette and the maintenance costs are annoying....I can't imagine what an old Ferrari would cost.
