It’s not just the Performance 3 that has seen a price drop... Not quite as drastic, the the “regular” dual motor 3 is also a bit lower in price. About $4k lower to replace my car with an identical one, but with “full self driving” instead of just “enhanced auto pilot”...

I did, and you’re not wrong. I’ll likely go with bmw for one more lease cycle and hopefully by then tesla will have some of the things that are currently deal breakers for me. I did sit in a model 3 recently while waiting for my wife to do some shopping - interior build quality felt pretty solid. |

2020 Ecoboost ($26,770) 2.3L High Performance Package ($4,995) Handling Package ($1,995) 101A Equipment Group ($2,000) (because fuck Ford for requiring it with the Handling Package) Based on what early inventory/orders look like, that may be tough based on the hopefully-not-representative-sample I just saw on Ford's site. Maybe there are some build/order constraints right now? (Not uncommon.) But, anyway... If it gets classed in D Street, I think it could be a class killer...unless it rains. If it gets classed in F Street, I think it...could do well. There's already very little (if any) daylight between DS and FS from a performance standpoint.

In person, Kristen is a smart, sweet girl. She took a (not-so-great) picture of Ida at the Jalopnik Newark show (sorry can't seem to resize smaller): https://jalopnik.com/here-is-your-gi...sho-1820770477 |

$6,500 loss on a 3 year old car purchased brand new and 36k miles is amazing and you know I’ve owned A LOT of new cars. I always expect a $6k loss (actually more like $8k to $10k) at a minimum per year. |

$6500 depreciation on a car you paid $24,500 for is another thing. Perhaps you could that thing, I don't know, say, 27%. A 73% residual value on a 3 year old car with 36k miles is good (and surprisingly good for a pony car) but I don't see it as OMGWTFBBQWOW!!!! good.
