That would be interesting, I guess.

PCA ~ Porsche says new hybrid 911 variant completes testing: We think it's the 992.2 GTS: https://www.pca.org/news/porsche-say...pletes-testing

Edit: Totally modified my C2S build with the dealer this morning. Lots of Exclusive Manufaktur goodies. We will see if I stick to it. My freeze date pushed… well over 30 days now.

I’m so curious now if there will be a T (looks dim) with a manual. Also looks dim for Carrera S to come with a manual. Typically the S and GTS are same but with higher boost in the GTS?

So only a manual in the GT3 or limited run GT-like models.

And then this so called halo car which is the 911 Turbo (non S) with a manual? Seems like this is far fetched.

My SA has stated all along that he does not believe the 992.2 will see a T. I am beginning to believe he just might be correct. Why offer a .2 T if the manual in it is dead?

we'll see. My SA, who had all of the initial launch info correct quite some time ago, suggested not all models will be PHEV. The thought is the base may not include it and could carry on the manual at the bottom of the range.

My 0.02, but the base engine is not enough in a 992. Maybe it is better suited with the PDK as it is rather lackluster with the manual in a T.

More power is almost always better, but my experience with the base engine in the 991 is it likes to rev (feels somewhat NA in that regard). It really wakes up above 4k and pulls well to redline. I know you never warmed up to the T, but it would have been interesting to see if you found the engine more acceptable after break-in.

Either way, if the option is a little underpowered with a manual, or 'properly' powered with a PDK, my personal preference is manual all day / every day.

Peak power output on the base engine tends to be in the 4200/4300 to 5k range. It fizzles out above 5k. Edit: per what I have read as well as watched.

#FakeNews

I do not divulge everything to you guys. As we all know if one wants to prohibit things from spreading then you sure the hell do not post it on the Internet and most especially in forums.

Real world experiences via the automotive press is my source. Then there is my own… Plus dyno is controlled environment.

Edit: I spent the good part of last Sunday afternoon driving my 997.2 which to me feels a tad quicker than a 992 T. You certainly hear and feel the speed in a 997 vs a 992. Some other observations, the 997 is the perfect size 911 as well as full-on analog. The differences between a 997.2 and a 992.1 are vast.

If the next Gen 911 (994) further increases in size, those of us whom enjoy the model will be SOL.
