Either. the pic TD posted is the individual buckets. But you can also spec a bench...

You know too much about this car! MINI went back and forth on whether or not they'd offer the rear bench in the US (it is already available in Europe). They finally decided a few months ago that they are going to offer it, but they need to do some more safety testing/certification before they can bring it over. My best guess is that it will be available in the summer or fall (when the 2012s come out).
