Tree Sap Removal?

Any suggestions for getting off tree sap that has been on the car a few months?

The sap droplets are now pretty hard and on top of that the weather is cold. I've tried a tree sap removal spray but it didn't seem to do much. Maybe it's the cold weather. I've also heard WD-40 works well for getting sap off, too, and (supposedly) won't harm the paint).

Any other ideas?

Ok, cool. I've used those in the past and they've done an incredible job. But that was on a car just washed with no pitch on it.
