Yeah once they made the Z4M the prices on these fell off.

Too much for such a dated car. Even the z4M should be in the 40's.

They did?

Actually, that is discounted for an s54 car as they normally sell in the low 30's from what I've seen, and the s52 cars are typically mid 20's.

I remember seeing a couple in the 40's right before the Z4M came out. The prices used to be silly.

The prices still are silly.

But the car is lighter than the E46 M3 and has the same engine, so do the math. They didn't make a lot of them. The S54 M Coupes especially have become a bit of a cult car.

I have a friend who's had one since buying it new in 02.

It's very cramped (especially after he had a roll bar fitted) and noisy, but it's fast as hell.

His has been unusually reliable as well - and he tracks it regularly and drives it hard.

My concern with buying any car like this used would be how it was treated by the previous owner.
