Approaching 200,000 Miles on the Yukon....

And thought I'd toss out some interesting numbers.... (I have kept a journal since the very first fill up....)

These are for a 2001 GMC Yukon 4x4 5.3L that I took delivery of in June 2000.

The truck has 197,250 miles
Has used 12,615 gallons of fuel (from 819 stops)
Has used 73 1/2 gallons of oil (49 changes @ 6 quarts each) - All except the first two - Mobil 1 5W-30 (the first two were conventional oil)

Average mileage is 15.6 mpg (highest 21.6 - lowest 11.0)
No - It's not an economy car.. But it does what I ask of it VERY WELL

There has had one 'problem' - The BCM (Body Control Module) crapped out - I knew of that only because the transmission would not go into tow/haul mode. Other than that - I replaced the fuel pump cause it was wailing like a banshee (replaced as a preventative measure)

The window motors FAIL often...
Drivers - I am on regulator #4
Passenger - #3
Rear - #2 each side

The rear defroster connection to the window fell off and the repair doesn't really work that well (electrically)
One of the exterior mirror's stopped heating and had to be replaced.

But - other than that -

And YES - I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL BRAKES on all wheels.

I replaced the OE POJ shocks at the 40,000 mile mark with Bilsteins.
Still working great.

I think I am on my third windshield.
I replaced the plugs/wires at 75,000 and 150,000 miles 'just because'.
I also replace the pre-cat 02 sensors at the 150,000 mark 'just because'.

I get about 80,000 miles on a set of tires.
I like the Bridgestone Dueler H/L's but the Michelin LTX's are good too

I know this may not be of great interest to most folks here - but just want to toss this pebble in the pond for anyone who might be interested.

Thanks

The tires are pretty comfy, quiet and have a goodly amount of grip in dry, wet and icy/snowy conditions.

Normally I think Michelins cost about 150% of what they should when compared against other tires.

But those Michelins you had on the Armada were amazing.

You are the luckiest 4L60E owner I've ever encountered. Whatever your maintenance routine is and however you drive - don't change!

I agree, but if I'd kept the Aramada long enough to wear out that set of tires, I think it would have worked out well from a strictly objective $/mile perspective.

Still, I remember getting really happy when I got that flat on the way to work that one morning because it gave me the excuse to get the new tires.
