No longer pending...

Deal should be done in a few days (trading in the S4).

Nice!

And just last night I was thinking I should ask you when you might be thinking of selling the s4.

It's a done deal, right?

Congrats, welcome to the other side. What are the specs?

Not sure I have ever seen a red top on a silver car

Congrats -- looks great.

I've seen the red top on silver a couple times out here. Also seen the blue top on both blue and white...

I generally don't post until the dust clears at the risk of jinxing, but hands have been shaken and prices agreed upon, so let's hope it sticks.

The big thing is that I've never owned a convertible, ragtop or hardtop. First ever (after more than a dozen cars).

More than a boxster, I was shopping for a 911 coupe. Also checked out a couple of caymans, but was less motivated for those (have had two for a decent period and the gt4 for several months). I do like the 911, especially this new generation, but I still have no need for rear seats, and still smiled more after my mid-engined test drives. I also think the new turbo 4, while outright faster, will take some sound and feel away.

This is a highly luxo/sporty build:
- gt silver/carrera red full leather
- red top
- 18-way seats (heated AND cooled)
- PASM (great for mix of road quality)
- PTV (diff in a boxster!)
- PSE (sports exhaust)
- Sport Chrono
- 20" classic wheels
and a whole bunch of other stuff that I can't remember that the previous owner spec'ed to make the car 'just so'. It even has a kind of famous family lineage, but that's not really a good or a bad thing. The MSRP is close to that of my gt4.

The darker GT silver spoke to me. It's a color I've lusted after since 2004. The condition & options are outstanding (for me) and the mileage is low. Price was not cheap but at least fair for the condition & options. I arrived at the showroom (of a porsche specialist) fifteen minutes before the other prospective buyer while the phone was ringing due to calls of other punters. The car was selling that day, in a matter of hours to minutes, I had dibs, so I pulled the trigger.

What is kind of awesome is that it's a pretty good reputation specialist and he called around and within twenty minutes got a very strong trade-in number for my S4, that made it that much sweeter. He's not charging for the trade/paperwork, just saving me taxes (and the worry of keeping too many cars at the same time).

Delivery may be Monday or Wednesday. Five porsches, no boxsters and somehow base or S, I kept having the best test drives in them. I'm a little concerned about my OCD kicking and wanting a hard roof, but I want to give it a genuine shot.

If you keep it for a couple of years, I call dibs.

Awesome, dibs called before any money has changed hands. Now it's really going to get jinxed.

Congrats... I can't remember if you still have the GT4 or if you sold it?

Similar color combo as on the 2004 550 spyder... except I think those had black roofs and dark brown/maroon interiors.

You just need to keep it for 5 yrs, so I can get the girls through college. I'm assuming this will null and void my dib, therefore eliminating any real concern for jinxes.
