Not a fan of the aesthetics- looks too busy which makes it seem like a cheap aftermarket unit. Also very disappointing that they've ditched the controller in favor of voice controls. The idrive controller was something that really helped differentiate BMWs and make the user experience so much nicer to live with than a touch screen (or voice controls).

On a positive note, if their new "ivision dee" concept represents their future exterior design direction that could be a good thing. Seems they've decided to re-embrace the simple clean lines of cars from the 70s and 80s and are backing away from massive grilles, adornments, etc. Supposedly, this is roughly what the next 3 series will look like.

Re Dee, in my opinion it is a dumpster fire! Allegedly it is a lead up to the next generation 3-Series.

Gotcha…

The G87, possibly the G05 LCI, and maybe a G87 LCI will be it for me. I plan to abandon ship for Porsche at some point. We will see… As many of us know things tend not to go as planned.

It sounds like 8.5 will look land function like ID9 but will run on the older hardware and is based on the same underlying OS as ID8 (Linux vs Android). Basically a stop gap measure. Unclear as to whether 8.5 cars will also lose the controller though. Seems possible if the goal is to have the same look and feel as ID9
