Hm. . . it just occured to me. . . I have no idea if my Jeep's mud-terrain tires even have a speed rating. Never bothered to look, really.

One of the contractors I work with has a snowmobile with the same 1.0L 4 cyl engine as the Yamaha R1. . . . that he turbo'd.

It pumps out about 350 hp.

That might get you up to speed.

I've been driving aggressively on dry pavement, so I understand the rears would wear first, but I don't understand why the centers wore out so quickly. I'm running 34 PSI all around, and my rear alignment is zero toe, with nearly zero camber.

Is 34 PSI still too high? These things have soft sidewalls. If I go any lower, they'll fold over completely and I'll be riding around on the wheels.
That's really strange wear for 34psi.. Do you accelerate like a greased, scalded ____ but turn like a granny? Who'd thunk rumatt is a stoplight dragster?

Update: I took them off on 4/1. After rotating, both front and rear are completely spent, well into the wear bars, even wear across the tread.... I estimate about 7K miles on them.

It's weird because others reported them lasting a while. Maybe if you drive normally they're fine, but if you push them they wear more quickly compared to all-seasons?????

Ironically, the first year I got snows was the first year I ever crashed in the snow. I may go with all seasons again next year. This shit is too expensive to buy every year.

My snows (wintersport M3s) looked barely used after 10,000 miles of winter driving on them. Of course, when it warmed up (consistently > 45 degrees) I took them off. Warm temperatures really destroy snow tires quickly.

My Blizzaks have 4 winters (~15k miles) on them, and they look to have at least 3 more on them. I just really need to buy summer tires asap, so I can take them off.

I made it through half of the winter with my super-softies and they look like they did brand new. Kinda makes me wish my summer tires looked as nice.
