cars for kids

There was another thread somewhere, but I can't find it now about first cars for kids.

Slightly different take on what I remember from that discussion, but...

Does anyone on the board and not too far from the DC area have a car that's not in terrible shape that they'd want to sell for under $4k? Or know of one?

Life has switched gears enough in recent days such that quickly adding such a vehicle to the family fleet would be immensely helpful, with "quickly" being an important word.

It's tough to get out to see any cars in daylight during the week, recent weekends have shit the bed, and this Saturday is looking snowy.
