I read rivian lost 1.3 billion last quarter. Seems like a tough way to keep a business afloat. Probably a smart move to flip and move on.

They lost $1.7B for Q2. They are bleeding cash profusely. I as well as many others suspect that Amazon or Apple will eventually have full controlling interest. Who knows… their future looks bleak, but I truly hope they make it.

FYI, Rivian had a price increase within the last 48 hours. It went unannounced and my build is now a nearly $98k truck with dest. Crazy…
Didn't they also remove their cheapest version of the pickup truck?

Did you do the photography for the auction? Looks great and very well presented. Good luck

That seems to happen when a company that has never produced vehicles before discovers how much it actually costs to build one and get it out the door. My Atom cost $65K when I bought it. The identical config eventually ended up with a $119K MSRP. I think that is part of the reason interest in those dropped - it was a very cool car for $65K, but at nearly twice that price there are a lot of cool cars.

I think Tesla lost similar amounts of money until recently. Rivians market cap is still about 30 billion so I guess they could keep themselves funded for a while by selling more stock. That being said, I think they are hoping to eventually be acquired
