Reading more into this, Nissan did the “keep the same complete chassis thing” that they did with the Frontier truck. Guess that makes sense for the accountants.

If the chassis is good enough, why not?

Hellcats are based on 200x Mercedes chassis designs. And Porsche basically used the 996 architecture from 1998 to 2012?
