Drove the E23 to work today.
I thought I might as well drive it when it wasn't raining... It is clear -but cold. Car ran great. I was half way to work this morning thinking - I am not feeling any warm air... the heater was not working. Uh oh.. what is wrong.... I then realized I had the temp wheel turned all the way cold - vs the other direction that would have it warm. lol The joys of non illuminated dash controls.

I have to say I love the front and side views but not really the back. Seems underdeveloped. What a classic very cool car though. There can’t be that many in this kind of shape left.

Great car, it looks to be in impeccable shape. I don't know if I've seen an E23 in person since I was in grad school. Is it an Alpina or some type of special edition?

No - not that 'special' as such.
Was a grey market import back when pretty new. German model (2.8L - so a 'low end' model actually). Nice that it has the small bumpers and staggered headlights (US models had the 4 reflectors the same size - here the outside ones are larger than the inbd ones). And - a 5 speed. Also has German ventilation controls. Need to study up on that... lol. While I was not in the market for a car like this - the condition and (relative) rarity stood out above it being 'just' an early 7 series. Really fun to have. And - with working AC and conformable interior -a very usable 'near' classic I can use on a regular basis.
