A Brooklyn Grey X3M LCI I spotted last weekend under an overcast sky.

Totally uninspiring selections for sure.
My CA says the majority of G42's are BG. I don't get it as to me it's a rather blah pigment of paint, but I guess it blows most other people's hair back for whatever reason. I'm glad they didn't, but they should have reserved Thundernight as the G87 unique color instead of for the G42. As it is, if I were in the market for a G87 and had to pull the trigger at launch I would probably go with Zaandvort blue. Why? With the exception of Smurf blue and Puss yellow on the E46 I pretty much am a sucker for the launch signature colors. Time has softened me on Laguna Seca blue as I rather like it now, but Phoenix yellow still reeks in my eyes. For the G87 I would have to wait and go with an Individual color in Le Mans blue once the program is offered. Anyway, if any of you do go with one of these standard colors at launch Dan and I won't show up and rain on your parade with our stellar TN & PB G42's if you let us know in advance you'll be in either the Indy or Austin areas.

Just as boring in person. Zero pop!
Mike, time has done the same thing to me. For whatever reason I now like LSB and PY. Currently Zandvoort Blue is a no go for me. It is to baby blue and I am a Tarheel fan so you would think that I would like it. No waiting for me given that I am allocation number one. I will more than likely be spec’ing my G87 shortly after the world premiere in mid October. Last edited by SCA; 08-31-2022 at 02:52 PM. |

I guess I find it slightly more interesting than the typical black/grey/white but I also think that the chalk/battleship grey trend has run its course.

Not my style. But this is America after all. Every other yankee doodle dandy is doing it. You might get the $5k necessary to order that Individual color when it becomes available.

FYI, Individual paints are currently reduced for the 50th anniversary. Only applicable to M cars. Last edited by SCA; 09-01-2022 at 01:12 PM. |

I just watched the new mustang reveal. I think it’s hilarious that ford figured out how to do a dual rear caliper, one for the 4 piston Brembo’s and one floating for the “drift” e-brake, but BMW M can’t figure that out and do the same. They currently have a shitty single floating caliper they are putting on the back of all the new M cars. SMH!!!
BTW - Mustang gets ID8 as well. LOL
