Honestly, why is that so bad? What makes *that* the thing that's going to be bad about the upcoming 7? If we're getting digital clusters, digital interface screens, it makes sense to go bigger.

Do I want it? No. But I don't see how this makes me want it less.

I would love the huge curved display. It's clearly where interiors are going. The only problem I have is that it seems like BMW's design choice is to just drop a huge curved ipad onto the dashboard with no thought to shaping it to look like it's actually been integrated into the design from the beginning.

(This is based on the i4 interior, not just the test mule interior pictured above)

The way they are currently integrating it looks horrible…. Worse than the iDrive “hump”

Edit: I do concur with Dan’s sentiments above.

I have attached a recent i4 photo from BMW’s Instagram.

Eh. They both look equally bad to me. At least this is more honest.

I mean, the screen layout wouldn't be the thing that prevents me from buying an M2. The rest of the car is more than enough

Ha! One does not look at the exterior nearly enough when your butt is planted in the driver’s seat staring at that stupid screen. Also, the exterior could be a hell of a lot worse via the M3/M4 bucktooth kidneys. Edit: We all know there is a ton of truth to that as well.

Yeah I'm kind of neutral on the looks of the screen itself. It's a shame that they ditched physical climate controls though. I thought BMW was one of the few automakers to still act rationally and preserve some physical controls where it makes sense.
