We will see where it goes. Usually these slightly different edition cars ask stupid prices in the 7-digits. First it's the 50th, then the 911R, then the GT3 Touring, then the 911T... There is always another niche and another attractive 991 variety. It's hard to get excited...

Ok the market on the 981 GTS seems to be softening a little.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...e-boxster-gts/ That as the perfect black on last week for going right at $50. Maybe its the announcement that there will be other 718’s besides the GT4/Spyder that will get the 4.0 six. This is noting but good news for me in the used 981 S department.

Why is he selling it? I think if I owned one, and did the IMS update, I'd would be keeping it for a while

I'm interested in the psychology of the "no reserve" auction.
The seller of that 981 GTS bemoaned getting a better offer wholesale the week before--it seems odd to me that on a car like that you wouldn't make your reserve a couple of grand higher than the wholesale. I assume "no reserve" auctions are intended to drive more participation, but that seems like a pretty big bet to make. EDIT: In David's case, that plus a great car plus great presentation seem to be bringing strong money out early. $18K already! Last edited by JST; 08-08-2019 at 05:39 PM. |

The BaT thread for the cars we won't buy, but kinda wish we would

Yep he’s pretty pumped about how it started. I think I’ve mentioned it to some of you, David is good friends with BATs sales head so he got good leads on things like a photographer and detailer, some attention in writing the copy and suggestions about videos. Nothing untoward, just being helpful.
