Reading more on the F22/F23 rock+ radiator problem. Apparently BMW revised the design after December 2017 to include a mesh screen. Of course, my car is a December 2016 build.

I wonder how much it would cost to have the screen put on preemptively. It really should be a TSB fix, but I’m sure it won’t be. Some owners have gotten BMW to eat the cost of the screen AFTER a rock has taken out the radiator. But, you still end up paying for the radiator.

I have a piece of black fiberglass mesh (window screen) across the front of the radiator and adjacent area of my..... Mustang.

Has worked great to keep stuff from blowing through and into the engine compartment. The guys that did the restoration put it in on their own knowing I would be driving the car a fair bit. They said they do that to all their 'road cars' and not show cars coming out of their shop.

No charge.

The G42 looks okay, and the pricing on it is actually pretty attractive; my spec is just over 50k. Really too bad abt the lack of a stick.

It’s the lack of any kind of a cohesive design. So many angles lines. I do like the Brooklyn grey though.

Mine were fairly loaded at $55,150 and $55,700. xDrive is not needed nor is the auto. Zero interest, but provides an idea to where the G87 pricing will be.

I’m thinking high 60’s for the comp.

The F87 was like $65 all in. Exec DCT sunroof

Not that I have either exec or dct. Lol

If they produce a comp. I cannot see them having a regular M2 and a competition M2 like the M3/M4. From a marketing standpoint at M entry-level it just wouldn’t make sense. Who knows…

I see the same combo as the G80. Manual none comp Auto comp only.

For them to fork out the money to certify both (auto and manual) financially it doesn’t make that much sense when it’ll just be slightly below the performance of an M3/M4. A Comp version of either loaded up is $100k. When you start putting four models with basically the same engine performance under the same umbrella you are grasping at straws. Just my 0.02, it is really anyone’s guess at this point. One thing is certain I do not forsee them having a regular M2, a competition, and a CS being produced all at once. No regular M2 and the other two, sure…. I don’t think the Mexico plant is equipped to handle that much production either because they already have 3-series production for NA.
