Hmm… Slow news day for Motor 1? Nothing really new since this thread began in July. Edit: Especially in regards to the front bumper cover and kidneys.

Hey Mike, I had not seen those G87 photos with so much of the lower front bumper exposed.
Thanks!!

There is no way that that middle area can be the final spec. The cooler is fully exposed with nothing in front of it.

Edit:

Holy front tire patch Batman

This could be just me but I think the G87 might build on the current M240i rear arches by using ad on’s instead of making new sheet metal.

See attachments.

I do think there will be new front fenders to accommodate those 275 front tires though.

I like what I am seeing in these new pics though.

The huge active cruise control sensor will be there on the production version, all but guaranteed.

Edit: You can actually see the backing plate the sensor will mount to.

Wasn't there a kerfluffle some time ago about a lack of guards on certain BMW coolers allowing rocks to damage critical parts?

I know of a local ‘17 F85 X5M (S63) that it happened to and required an engine replacement. It cost the owner $30k for a used engine plus labor.

My 2 series has this grill issue, apparently. They changed the design from MY2018 and later, I think.

Same on my 2. Large openings where the coolers are and very little protection. Lots of rock marks on the cooling fins already.

That is why I commented on the front of the new M2 in those pics. That cannot be the finished product.
