Wow I knew there was a Porsche premium but 45k is insane!

Your build looks good - would be hard to skip any of the options you selected. I think I’m still adjusting to car inflation since I still think of the x5 as 70kish car with options but 80k is the new 70k.

I hear ya. Think about this, though. C&D Top 10 has always had the cutoff be 2.5X the average car price. It is so high now, that the cutoff for the the last Top 10 awards goes to $110k.

The $60k I paid for the LR4 in 2013 is in the low 80s now using a generic inflation calculator. Realistically, it would probably cost closer to $90k to buy an equivalent now.

Wow. Sounds like a good way for me rationalize blowing 110k on a Taycan though!

My G05 LCI build is $9k more than my 2017 X5 that I ordered new. The G05 does have more standard equipment than the former F15 X5. I have also added options that I now refuse to give up whereas six years ago I was more flexible in order to get the MSRP to my liking.

Nice- I think that's actually less than inflation during that period!

I built a 2024 M60i and it is $6k more vs. my 2020 M50i. Think they’ve bumped the pricing on V8 (and the PHEV) a bit more than base 40i models.

Yeah I think so too. Although I did try building a version of the PHEV x5 i'd originally ordered in the fall and the total price didn't increase as much as the base increase would imply...One thing that helped is that they brought back the premium pkg so you no longer need to order the executive pkg as pre-req for stuff like leather and DAP. So apples to apples I'm sure I technically lost some features but those were things i really didn't care about.

A year later, my car is about $2k more MSRP than I paid, with some features no longer available (fancy headlights, etc.) And still some spot parts shortages. The GC seems to suffer from those a little less than the 3 series, which has had a lot of unexpected features pulled from time to time (hands-free trunk, etc.)

You get an actual M engine with the M60i too. The ‘S’ designated engine is worth the $6k alone.

Sure, but probably not worth $50k to upgrade at this point 😁
