Here's the weekend after President's Day Weekend to do list for a poseur race car...

Here's what I'm hoping to get done on the e30 this coming weekend at Terry's. The asterisked items are optional if I run short of time:

Install new steering rack and tie rod ends
Install short shifter kit
Install coilovers
RTABS and subframe bushings
Align and cornerbalance
Install center support bearing/diff mount*
Weld/reinforce front subframe*
Weld/reinforce rear sway mounts*
Install brakepads*
Install wheel studs*
Replace steering wheel*

Oh yeah, first item of business: Get Nick's car finished enough to get it the hell out of the garage.

Alex

What time should Zach and I show up? It's pretty clear you guys are lost without our expertise.

PS

You just HAD to give this a similar title so that it looks like the old thread.

I was wondering how far you guys actually got on Nick's car. When I left on Saturday, it already looked like finishing up by Monday wasn't in the cards.

I can't find anything in the regs that say they're not, but I may not be looking hard enough.

We made amazing progress between 5 and 8:30 last night.

That ain't how the rules work. Is there something that says they are legal? Are these the sway bar attachment points? Maybe they are mentioned explicitly, or are considered part of the bar.

Then again, I doubt anyone would care.

The rears would then be fine, since it reinforces a swaybar mounting point. And fronts then are probably not legal.

But it's a moot point, no way we're getting to the point of welding next weekend.

Yeah, it's amazing how quickly things go when you all desperately want to go home and collapse.

Also, all the fiddly bits are done.

Mostly, though, Terry is an unbelievably tolerant saint.

We basically only need to torque some bolts and bleed the brakes. Had the subframe bushings been installed on Sunday we could have finished.
