I really need to cut down that huge hickory tree and cut back the railroad ties... with those gone it would be really easy to get up and down that driveway. Unfortunately that tree is going to be big money to remove. Quote:

Your driveway is a place where a front hitch could come in handy. Or, just don't bring home dead cars (saying this with a smile, don't get mad at me)

Or anchor a winch at the top of the hill.

Probably not a bad idea.
So I called the local salvage yard (Condon's, up in Westminster). The guy who answered the phone was curious what I was doing with a 2.5L Fusion engine and a 2006+ Miata automatic transmission, so I gave him the 30 second spiel about the car and he knocked $50 off of the engine and $40 off of the transmission and waived the core charges. I thought that was pretty cool. So... why the automatic transmission? |

Bell housing cut, or are you going two pedal?
Edit: seems like you could do fun things with a torque converter on a car that never sees street time, or gets run for more than a minute or so at a time.

going to make your own SMG type thing?
With as much torque as that thing makes, could you do some kind of crazy CVT like transmission doesn't require you to shift on the course?

Good point. The 2 speed would be perfect.
