See, on the west coast the drivers aren't as skilled so they have to resort to fancy hydraulic systems to get their cars rock'n like that.

The icebears w300's on my gf's civic Si are pretty ok. Decent in dry & snow. She did complain about them in warm, wet weather.

They're lasting pretty well too. She must be one of the smooth NJ/NY drivers...

Four Blizzak WS-60s showed up at my doorstep today, thanks to Tire Rack. What a great way to buy tires. Now I've gotta schlep them somewhere to get them mounted.

Man, the tread on these tires is SOFT. They feel like they might last me one day of commuting.

Shipped to your house and you have to have them mounted? I always have them drop shipped to the garage that is going to do the mounting. Seems easier.

Well, my most local tire place isn't on tire rack's list of installers. Figured I'd play it safe this first time.

As it turns out, fitting four wheels with tires, plus four tires, is not the simplest feat in an E34. Three fit in the trunk, then three in the rear right side (with the front passenger seat all the way forward), then two sitting behind the driver. I'm starting to understand why folding rear seats became such a hot ticket.

Sounds like somebody needs a trailer. You'd be able to fit plenty of wheels / tires in one.

But then the question arises... what snow tires for the trailer?

So, super-tall tread blocks plus super-soft compound = super-weird ride. It's almost like I turned my car into a Buick. Oh, well, at least I'll be able to drive with confidence in any weather now. And anyway, now that I've bought and mounted them, it's going to be sunny and over 50 through March.
