Any rust? That would be as much an issue to me as mechanicals.

Check closely in the trunk, esp. on the right hand side behind and below the fuel fill, under the battery and underneath the jack storage area on the left hand side. These cars are notorious for leaky taillight gaskets.

Yep... forgot all about the evil "r" word. My E30 was just starting to rust when I got rid of it. Just my luck... my 318ti is now starting to rust, too. I keep telling myself to keep this car for another year, but it doesn't look like it'll be easy.

I know I want *an* e30 325ix. I'm just not sure I want this one. Did anyone notice that the driver's door doesn't match the rest of the car?

Sonofagun... I hadn't noticed that before. Different shade of red (or just different amount of color fade) and a pin stripe. What's up with that?

Her "idiot boyfriend" got in an accident in the car causing the door to be replaced and the dent in the rear door.

Going back to your first post, I guess you have to ask yourself what this car is really for.

Are you going to use it just to keep the M3 out of the snow?

It looks pretty tired to be a regular use vehicle.

With all the snow we got I'm sitting at home looking at my stranded M3 out the window. I think (gasp) an SUV might be a better choice for us. Maybe a 97 or 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It holds a lot more, and is relatively reliable.

Dunno.
