I could see spending a bunch of money on a car and not driving it if it was something very rare, and would someday be worth a lot more than you paid for it. But a run-of-the-mill M3? Even if it does have the wrong transmission, just get out there and enjoy driving the thing.

I love all the rust, too, because apparently it’s been sitting outside most of this time. And the majority of the miles were added by the (recent) 2nd owner.

The whole rust thing sucks ... looking at the pictures there is a lot of it .... I don’t get why someone would buy this car, never use it and not even store it properly.

What can be done about all of that rust ... I think that would be a big project and you’d have to start removing parts, replacing parts, repainting parts, scrapping some parts, etc.

What a mess for what should be a great find.
