I also notified the other insurance company that I plan to file a diminished value claim. That process will start when I get my car back… I'll also be filing for additional rental car expenses, plus fuel for the rental car.
Good to hear.

My diminished value claim on the Jeep was flat out denied. Are you definitely selling it?

Is there known logic as to when a diminished value claim is approved? Something to do with total value? How new the car was?

Or is it just whether they feel like being charitable?

I've never heard of anyone succeeding with one of those claims, but this car was brand new.

If the other driver was found to be at fault, is it worth suing them to recover the diminished value?

Diminished value is a thing that exists though, right? What are the magic conditions for qualifying?

I've seen this discussion about Diminished Value on the Rennlist forums, there are attorney's who specialize in it.

I just did a quick search and found one example of it being discussed but if you search further into the site you should see some more info on it.

There have been some discussions on diminished value over at TMC also. The Tesla local staff has been supportive and has offered trade-in quotes, which will help establish the loss in value.

I’ll play it out. Depending on how the diminished valued goes, I’ll decide if I replace this car soon, or just keep it.

I’m in OH, and that doc is consistent with what I’ve read...

And work started on the car today. It was moved about 1pm, and the mobile app shows the trunk and damaged door open. Most likely torn down to prep for repairs...

I never thought about the fact that I can use the mobile app to check on my cars status while it's in the shop.

Do they keep it on a charger?
