Finally did an oil analysis.

Should I drive the car into the hudson ASAP and report it stolen?

108K miles

MATTHEW: We do keep your credit card on file. Universal averages show typical wear levels for this type
of engine after about 6,000 miles on the oil. Iron and lead are most out of line. Iron is from steel parts and
lead is from the bearings. It looks like there's a steel shaft/bearing interface that's not wearing quite right.
It's
not enough to call a problem yet, but is worth watching. If the car sees any hard use, like city driving, that
might explain some of the metal. The TBN was 2.9 showing some active additive left; less than 1.0 is low.
Try 6000 miles on the oil next time.
