Wow. BMW reaches a new low.

Although I suppose some people will like it because it's not the "bland", normal looking (i.e. attractive) stuff they used to make.

This seems to be what people want now; the "tall car".

Perhaps they've already been down the minivan/suv route, the kids are older.......who knows, but the new Infiniti EX35 is certainly being aimed at the same market (albeit less expensive).
