What will you do with the spare? Just clog up the trunk?

I can't seem to convince myself that's an option that wouldn't drive me crazy.

Why?

might be jinxing myself, but I have not had a flat yet this century.

Well, I did toast one trailer tire in 2009, but I did that myself. I knew before making the turn that there wasn't going to be enough room to clear the curb with all tires.

The trunk is HyhuuuGE!

It came with winters, but I plan on buying a compact spare. What I did with the e90.

Very nice - Congrats! Agree that the huge trunk is great-- makes SUVs seem even less relevant. Sounds like it's specced about as good as it gets for an enthusiast F10. Did you get a great deal because it's a manual or did you pay a premium due to rarity (Seems like it shifts from the former to the latter depending on how far down on the depreciation curve you are)?

I've always been curious about a manual F10 but have never driven one. What are your impressions so far (of the trans and drivetrain)? Have read some reviews that complain about how quiet it is - but your exhaust cures that I'm sure.

Well, he does have the Boxster for sunny days

We're pretty happy with Invisihitch. It's based near here; owner seems smart and nice. We got it for the X5.

Boxster is a joy.

The rack is not going to stay on that much, mainly for ski trips.. Until our TDI is bought back (which may be as late as 2018), its tow hitch can do that job, but it's nice to have options.

The one hitch install I saw on a 535i required bumper cutting (sucks but ok I guess) and also drilling into the trunk floor metal, which I'm not so cool with. I'll stay away from expensive/difficult stuff.

I can see from the svc trail of the previous (unbelievably, overly OCD) owner that the performance exhaust was a b*** to get right, required multiple trips.
