LR4 is starting to get old
We dropped it off today for a fuel tank collar recall. I was notified that the protective fuel tank tray is too corroded and needs to be replaced to be able to carry out the recall. That is my bad and should have thought about it and done it myself ahead of time, Oh well. That was $700 and I approved it.
But the also found that "the front timing covers need to be resealed driver side cover is leaking oil and passenger side is seeping oil." Quote: $6660. Sure, it's a lot of money. But it is a lengthy job requiring a few special tools. Still, if it turns out that it needs attention, I can do it slowly over time. I have a nice setup to work on it. |

Well, I don't want to say they were trying to scam me but I looked at the LR4 with as many lumens as could reasonably be produced and I cannot find any trace of any leak whatsoever.
