Time for new brakes on the ZHP

I just crossed 59K miles and when I put on the summer tires I noticed the front pads are way down. The disks seem very worn too. I'm actually surprised that the light has not come on. The brakes have been feeling relatively mushy/fadish lately.

So, it's time for a good old bleeding and new fronts (rears replaced by BMW @ ~45K miles).

Any reason NOT to stick with OEM parts? Real OEM lists rotors, pads, sensors, paste for ~$250. If I go OEM, are they the best source?

I may do a CDVectomy while I'm at it too.

I've decided to keep my car through the summer, so I might as well get it up to snuff. I'm due for the 60K mile service too, which I'll probably do myself.

Just use OEM pads. There is no benefit to going with the aftermarket pads that claim to enable better stopping distance.

False.

For FC, though, I'd also stick with OEM unless there is something that he didn't like about the original pads (dust, noise, etc).

My plan was to stick with OEM. They are dusty, but I'm used to it. They've been great all this time. Just curious to hear if there was some sort of universal concensus that some aftermarket pad was the way to go. A lot can happen in 6 years.

Axxis Deluxe Ceramics aren't bad. And they are cheap. Hawk Ceramics are slightly better, but they are horribly expensive.
