Got a 118d M-Sport as a rental.
And got into an accident with it in front of the hotel. Ugh. I'm ok I think. And the car is still drivable, I think. My front left got hit by her front right.
Not a good day. Thankfully I was "a sucker" I decided to pay for premium insurance coverage. My damages shoud be limited to 100 GBP. |

I had to cross two lanes into the hotel and the middle lane (a turning lane) was jam-packed. As I waited, I was blocking dozens of cars all the way back to the busy intersection. Eventually enough cars in the middle lane moved a bit to let me in. I crept in and saw what seemd like enough space to cross the final lane (remember, all lanes are freakishly narrow). Then I see a tiny Renault moving pretty fast (she said 30mph, but it sure seemed faster. I stopped but was already into her lane by a foot or two. She had no time to stop nor any room to manouver in the lane (though the hotel entrance was right there). Considering how narrow the lane was, the fact that there was busy intersection yards away and pedestrians all around, she was flying.
I don't know what else I could have done besides making hundreds of cars hate me until someone decided to suddenly stop for me. Bad luck I guess. |

Glad you're alright.
And you're right, a lot of the lanes in the UK can get freakishly narrow. I remember once whacking the side-mirror on a bus on one side and nearly scraping a car on the other during one family trip eons ago.

I'm about to pick up our Einzer (118i?) here in Cologne, Germany. We are hoping for a better fate.

I found there is a button on the dash for the god-awful auto engine shut-off. |
