Ha yeah - the "wear the spouse down by talking about it so much" really works. A friend of mine was obsessed with getting a 911. His wife was the frugal type and not into cars at all. After years of him pretty much talking non stop about cars, she was like "just get a 911 - i'm so sick of hearing about it".
