Consensus seems to be:
-N54 is a bit stronger at the top end
-n54 is more tuneable
-n55 stock exhaust sounds better
-n55 has slightly better low end response
-n55 has more turbo whine noise for better or worse
-n55 gets better mileage

Focus ST is on Top Gear tonight. Aired in UK yesterday. I read that JC didn't seem to care much for it in comparison to the Vauxhall VXR and Renault Megane RS, but it turns a 1.29.6 on their course...which is faster than the E46 M3 and RX-8 back in the day.

yeah I watched it last night, beat them on the straight line too.

he liked the functionality but dislike the interior and was not a fan of the handling, he said something like it was all over the place, torque steer to understeer to lift throttle oversteer.
