It's still by far the smallest house I've ever seen around here with 3-5 garage bays. Most everything that has that much vehicle storage is 5,000+ square feet

Yep...that was the problem we found, and why that plan was scrapped. I'm just not willing to put up with the commute that would have been necessary to actually get what we wanted - which was basically to buy land and build.

But if you are buying in an area with fairly flat (and copious) land, why not just build a barn like FC did? The cost on that is actually pretty reasonable (in the context of anything home related), so long as you don't have to move half a mountain like you would at my house.

Have you been to his area?

Also, don't end up like me and buy a house with special zoning that you didn't realize existed.

Right, that's exactly the issue. Property we can afford that has the ability (space, legality) to accommodate a large outbuilding is out in the boondocks and would mean a bad commute to work for both of us. This place was sweet because it shortens her commute while making mine longer, but still tolerable.

Was a fantastic day for driving with the top down yesterday. During our trip, one of these passed us going the other direction (not this one, but this color) Looked like an awful lot of fun to drive.

Lots of interesting things out on the first nice weekend of spring. On Saturday , we saw one of these over the weekend:

Obviously it was crappy Ferrari day, because I then saw one of these:

But this was really nice:

I always kind of liked the Mondial for some reason, although I was mostly attracted to the convertible version...

Speaking of mid-engine 2+2 Ferraris, a guy I new in high school was often dropped off at school in his dad's 308 GT4, which was far from the prettiest Ferrari ever made... That car was 10-12 years old at the time.

Wasn't that gen of the V12 coupe not officially imported to the US? I know there are some gray market ones in the US (and now some >25 year old imports) -- but those are fairly rare in the US...
