I think it's safe to say the people you speak of had no idea...and probably still don't...that there is a different engine.

it's time for a new horse.

you've been immersed in BMWs too long. not only is your sense of power to weight imbalanced, so isn't your expectation of options/amenities per dollar.

have some pickled ginger to refresh the palate for awhile. then go back.

No kidding. Only the wagon owners escaped the engine bait-and-switch. I even can't imagine my heavy e60 530xiT with my e46 330i engine. Putt, putt.

Pretty funny and well put. If I could p-shop, I'd design a pic of 30-something guy with a gray sweather and a black cap with spinning roundels for eyes.
