I don't have any feelings for or against Tesla the car company apart from it being a vessel for opinions of its founder. The thread should be retitled "F*** Elon".

Thread title was correct at creation and no changes necessary.

You are free to create any thread you like with any title you feel appropriate, too.

Is it true that the Model Y has no manual backup rear door pull?

Are you referring to the fire and the construction workers who had to break someone out of the car?

Dunno. ZBB?

Look at page 13…
https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/...e_Guide_en.pdf

Both the 3 and Y (the docc above is for the Y, but applies to both models) only have manual door releases on the front doors. Only needed if there is no power.

We do have a glass hammer in each car. Rear seat occupants would have to crawl out through the front. It’s really not that different than rear seat child locks being on…

There have been enough incidents that I’d make the case that a separate emergency door pull is not adequate. Expecting people to find it in a panic is not realistic.

But I don’t understand how it’s legal to not have one at all?

Elon Musk has a "super bad feeling" about the economy and needs to cut about 10% of jobs at Tesla.

I cannot say that my opinion of where the economy is headed is much different than his.
