In his defense, even I never lusted after the SVO. It was an interesting car on paper, but the only real world thing it had that mattered over the GT was disc brakes in back. I had a neighbor a few years older than me thst had one and was was a MD State Trooper. When I got my first GT, we had some talks that mostly boiled down to him telling me to park it when the streets were wet. He knew first hand the GY Gatorbacks were shit in the wet from driving on them and from responding to a lot of Mustang, Corvette, etc crashes.

And also in my defense, I've never actually driven an SVO, though I've ridden in a couple. My overarching memory of them was "turbo lag."
