Yes. Both are SAE ratings from 2006 to 2007 (aty is right on the MY).

I like it. I wonder how well it handles? Torque steer?

How will Toyota slot this car? Why would anyone buy the Avalon if the new Camry can be had for less?

The Avalon is Toyota's flagship sedan, sort of a Lexus for those who want to pay for a Toyota. Basically the Buick of the Toyota lineup.
