Pimpala 222s are a dime a dozen, but this is the rare Turbo model.

I can only guess at the "turbo" part, but what do you suppose the 222 signifies? Did it have 222" wheels?

Yup.

There are some really twisty roads if you visit via the back entrance (from the east vs. coming in from I-5 to the west). But the road surfaces are crap. Lots of settling makes the road very lumpy at times and you need to keep an eagle eye on that if you want to travel wit any kind of speed.

Even the "new" road leading up to the volcano has some settled sections on it. Still lots of fun but oof, my son got car sick on the road and blew chunks in the Miata at one point.

We ended up going down to the Ape Caves on the south side of the mountain, they are continents 3rd longest lava tubes. I'll post more in a separate road trip post at some point.

Actually, that would be a pretty solid lineup. A serious-business car, and a fun car.

Was Mr. Fusion still installed out back, or was this car not from that part of the future?

I didn't stop to check it out, but I assumed he had to work on it because it was having trouble reaching 88mph.

He works on a lot of club race cars so he always has cool things (like e30m3s, 2002s and a ton of e36/46/z4coupe track cars) lying around. This was very much outside of the norm for his place.

I talked to the guy who owns/built it. He has replaceable rear hatch areas. One w/ Mr. Fusion, one with the reactor. He hasn't made the hook yet to catch lightening.

The next Audi Q7 (corrected) spotted near Hendersonville, NC on I-26 last weekend. The German Tag with the IN (Ingolstadt) gave it away.

Edit: I have a video as well, but the top was down on the Z3 so the wind noise was abundant.
