So, uh, I too know (vaguely) what it's like to drive an Atom
Thanks Terry!
The basic review is this: I like. It's basically got the feel of a proper race car, except that, well, it's somehow registered on the street. (And no, I don't mean the car in my sig.) The throttle and clutch response are silly fast. (The clutch is so fast that I got in and stalled it right off that bat and the throttle revs up if you even look at it funny.) The steering is very direct, as it should be in a manual rack with solid linkages. Now, if I could just work out some way to make it make sense to buy one. Unfortunately, I think that pretty much involves winning the lottery. K got to try it out too and says she still wants a Caterham.

Here's an idea - once the car and I get back from the European tour (sometime in early October for the car as it is going by boat), we should have a 'mudgeons get-together somewhere where people can give it a more serious workout. An autocross would probably be best as I'd be a bit nervous letting everybody drive it on track with other cars.

Drive it back down to DC? Hell, I'd even drive the truck up there and ferry it for you. No better autox available.

I keep seeing a green t-rex in my 'hood. Looks cool and screams nicely...

Me too... and I'm already a gracious recipient of a ride around a hotel parking lot on Terry's first Atom trip
