Have you guys done one of these? Should I bring the Miata to one? |

I don't really get the point of track days, but if that's your thing. Why not. I (A)sume the SCCA knows how to put on a decent event.
(In my best infomercial voice impersonation) Do you want to do a track day? Do you have evenings free? |

After that I just started doing BMW clubs event only and it was a lot safer. I would still recommend dedicated track insurance for high cost cars. |

I got the track day thing out of my system a long time ago so I can't comment other than to say I've heard good things about TNiA.
As to whether you should bring the Miata to one, if you're looking to do a track day (night) and are okay with the risks involved then yes, go for it! |

I think it is a great program and have heard that they are a blast. I have not done a track event since college, but I might do one of these next Fall if they come back to NJMP. You would probably be okay in the Miata, but some tracks have specific rules on convertibles being eligible.
I liked track days until I had a really crappy instructor who made my day miserable. One of my best friends lost an engine on a freak "money-shift" situation which has made me weary to go back to the track. |

I ask because I am wondering how much I will like it having done Lemons. Speaking of which, as soon as I am done with my basement, I may convince people at work to field a team.

Same here. Too much risk for not actually racing
