Yeah, and it is so easy to get lost in that part of NYC, with all the streets going north/south, east/west and all

My parents just bought a Camry Hybrid today.

I told my dad it was nice knowing him.

Apparently, my mother will be backing into things. I will show her corners as soon as I can.

You know, we like to make fun of the Camrys. But as I made my way around town today at mid-day, I could not escape them. There is no other vehicle for which there is such a strong correlation between the car and general shitty/oblivious driving. I'm still struck by it as, while it's always fun to mock something, there is something real to this or else this correlation wouldn't be so strong.

My in-laws have a rental Camry this week in California. My father in-law currently drives a 15 year old Accord. Based on some of the comments he's made about that Camry, I fear what may occur after they get back.

Maybe it's for another thread, but now that I'm back to driving more than a couple miles a day every day, I've been noticing some things and wondering about some others. One of the things I've been thinking about it that yes, there is that much Camry suck out there, but there are also so goddamn many Camrys out there generally. And, frankly, the Accords, Sonatas, Altimas, and all other Camry competitors drive pretty much the same stupid fucking way. I'm just wondering how much quantity factors in...

average american driver is terrible and those sell in the highest quantities to americans But I still give camrys the vote for the average worst of the bunch especially if they are the nasty gold color.

Now that you mention it, I've been meaning to bring up the Sonatas. More so than the other Camry competitors and maybe even the Camrys themselves, they are a real collection of suck. And since there are fewer of them, the suck correlation is also extremely high.

My father in-law is generally a decent driver. My mother in-law already has the Camry minivan and drives like a Camry driver (although she has magically escaped getting a corner - then again she once creased the entire length of one side of the van against a pole, which they got repaired).

Quantity definitely is a factor. But it's like all of the truly shitty drivers pick the Camry or Sonata.
