$80k for a pretty standard build 997.2 S yeah not a lot of miles so guess you could lock it away and 10-20 years might be worth something

Wow that is more than my car is worth though I have a few more miles (around 12k). It is surprising a 2012 997.2S is worth more than a 2012 1/2 991.1S and my MSRP was around $10k higher.

I have been reading that the 991.1's are getting strong money being it is the last of the NA engines plus the manual's seem to be doing well because it is harder to find than pdk ... I guess time will tell

II do t think any non GT3 911s have future value. The 997.2 owner is pretty funny if he thinks the car is worth that much. The 991 is so dynamically superior, the future will put valuation on the 991.1 --for the reason you say. Last of the NA engines.

And manuals will hold value better than PDK. Once these garage queens sit and the transmissions start leaking --there's no recourse to repair them really. Not like a manual.

Um. I'd like a new GT3 Touring.

The 997.2S is stupidly priced. I'm with Lem. I owned a 997.2 base and drove the 997.2S and 991.1 (base & S) back to back. To me, other than a small drop in steering feel, the new car was leagues ahead. More improved than 987.2 to 981, not just in smoothness/cabin, but the ride/handling with the front feeling much more planted. I've never been a power freak so I would even take a well-optioned 991.1 base over a well-optioned 997.2S. But if you are so much into the 911 quirky feel (unbalanced) then you might miss that in the 991 and the 997 is the end of an era of sorts.

It's harder to find the right color/seats/suspension/LSD on the base 991 though it is possible. Much easier on the 991S (as most performance options are included). I have no opinion on the 991.2, I didn't feel like the 991.1 3.8L needed any improvement, I'd personally take that as a high point.

All good points, only big complaint that I hear is that the 991 feels like a large car compared to previous gen 911
