Not to sidetrack but I love that pic of your old Audi cabriolet. For some reason, Ive gotten into 80s and 90s Audis recently. I’ve flirted repeatedly with getting an Audi but never pull the trigger

Sounds like you should keep the 1 series c since you love it and it checks so many boxes. On the other end, I don’t see you being happier with a z4 manual than your current 911 and likely the 911 costs less to own due to lower depreciation

@Dan per my own 53 years on this earth a lot can also happen during that amount of time as life tends to eff things up more often than not. Clearly that’s my personal take.

Edit: I will elaborate, my own health issues are what pushed me to take a 992 T allocation as opposed to what I really wanted, a 992.1 C2S Coupe allocation. Moral of the story… things generally do not work out as planned.

Thanks, I assumed the Barber course had to do with Skip the link was good to read.

We're finalizing the plans and may need to arrange it with a return through Myrtle Beach because our niece is getting married down there one of the Oct weekends.

My wife and I will both be doing the 2 day Performance Course either Oct 1/2 or 7/8:

Our most popular course, the Performance two-day program at the Barber Motorsports Park begins with a brief classroom session discussing vehicle dynamics and the driving line.



Master the proper driving line and the many technical corners of the track, while continuing to sharpen basic skills at the Autocross, Skid Pad and Lane Change exercises.



Day two is dedicated to Track Sessions (including laps in the Taycan GTS), the Trail Braking exercise, competing in the Autocross Challenge, and more skid pad time. The program wraps up with thrilling Hot Lap rides with the instructors.

The Hot Lap sounds like it could be lame but in fact it was among my favorite parts of the course; by that time I’d just gotten good enough to not be scared of the track and the hot lap was an extremely visceral reminder of how big the gulf is between that and where the pro drivers are, skill-wise.

Make sure to check out the museum on the grounds while you’re there. It has some neat cars and a lot of very cool bikes.
