Don't quote me but honestly I think its almost the same box that started life in the 540 way back when and also appeared in the E39, E60 and F10 M5.

It's not the same transmission, but as long as the Getrag isn't abused under shifting, it'll take a shit ton of power.

No. It was a nice car, and I liked it A LOT, but it has no torque, no LSD, and it's too old (in several respects). Plus I had one, and a very similar one (E91). Combined, that's over 8 years of a similar type of car.
