Weird.
It's the Boxster on its spare. Tires are 7 years old, though, so it's probably time for a new set, anyway. |

I see all 4 pics. While it wouldn't have been ideal, you could have gotten home on a plug kit. The only car of mine that has a spare is the e46. I make the plug kit comment partially to convince myself I'm fine.

But I worry about the 2 and country drives for the same reasons. I have a plug kit and an air compressor. But, I'd hate to have to rely on them to get me home. The M3 had sort of a well area that the spare could fit in, so it was feasible to keep the compact spare in the trunk. The 2, not so much. |

Well done, JST.
Weirdly, although it was a PITA to unpack the entire SUV from a week-long vacation on some side lawn, I was thrilled to have my full-size spare and to be able to have the family vacation continue uninterrupted. I do feel nervous about not having any kind of spare on the Miata or M3. |

EDIT: What's annoying about the BMW is that it uses the same diameter wheel as the Tesla, and the Genesis alloy temp spare that I have for the Tesla is a lot lighter and smaller than what I have for the BMW. The problem is that I can't find a 19" alloy wheel that would fit the BMW. I *think* one from a Bentley would fit, but I only figured that out after I bought the bimmersolutions spare and I don't want to drop a few hundred bucks figuring it out. Bimmerzone shows an alloy wheel available for temp spare use but annoyingly does not prepackage it with a 145/70 18 tire. https://bimmerzone.com/collections/b...hoCRcMQAvD_BwE Not sure about the Miata. Yes, I could probably have gotten home on a plug kit or even maybe without one, though I realized too late that I don't have a compressor in this car. I should get one, I guess. |

Without commenting on the "do I need a spare?" question...WTF is in the tire? Looks huge. Was it making noise? Do you know how quickly the tire lost air?

I ordered the compact spare for the X7 specifically because of your posts about spare tires.
