Edit: Is other Josh in the running? Edit: No mention of the airbags... One last edit: It's probably not the best car for anyone who has to park it outside... Last edited by wdc330i; 10-01-2020 at 10:11 AM. |

OK, I can't even imagine how much they're asking for it. And the exterior is amazing. But that interior is...um. Wow. |

Yea, that is super annoying. If they have the balls to ask $200k (making that number up) for some rare BMW, why don’t they just put that on their website?

And I would do (and did do) an e46 xiT for a teenager. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain, smaller so less kids in the back, more robust and slower without being dangerously slow. Really a perfect winter beater / teen car.

@sarafil—my only guess is that their business model relies on finding nice used BMWs and flipping them for a profit, so publicizing what they ask for the finished product hurts their ability to bring new inventory in at a discount.
They’re well known enough now that their asking prices move the market, in other words. |

The BaT thread for the cars we won't buy, but kinda wish we would
Quote:
Yea, that’s a good point. I’m sure they have very healthy margins. That being said, I assume that even with a healthy markup they are still paying a strong number for the cars they buy so there is still a “who cares if I’m going to make a killing on this when I sell it, go find someone else willing to give you what I’m willing to pay” angle. That being said... Quote:
...yea, I think the growth of BAT has changed things a bit for EAG. I don’t know enough about their restoration and service business but I have to imagine that is a growing piece of their revenue. Also have no clue how many cars they own vs. consign.

F*** EAG. For all the pristine tales they tell, I test drove one of the e46 m3's they bought, before they bought it. The seller was was idiotic and paranoid. He had all sorts of test drive conditions that I met. I did the drive. I passed on the car when I found out that he did the break-in oil chg at 1.2k and then waited 8 or 9 years to 14k miles.... And he kept telling me that's what the display/computer asked for. Yeah, EAG sold that "premium" car for around 40k back in 2013.
